Main Street, Manteca, Cali fornix
Quarterly Ground Water Sampling Report
October, 1992 -January, 1993
Narrative
Scope of Work
Water level measurements were taken monthly during the last quarter of 1993 In
addition two sampling events were carred out during the period covered by this
report, one on November 4, 1992, and a second on January 27, 1993
Ground Water Sampling
On November 4, 1992, WHF Environmental Consultants, Jnc , in conjunction with
IHKK Inc , conducted field measurements, well pumping, and ground water
sampling on two ground water monitoring wells located at this site, MW-7 and
MW-8 The vapor extraction system installed and operating on MW-2 prevented
sampling of this well
Again, on January 27, 1993, WHF Environmental Consultants, Inc , m conjuction
with HKK Inc , conducted field measurements, well pumping, and ground water
samping on three ground water monitoring wells located at this site, MW-2, MW-
7 andMW-8 Vapor extraction system pnpmg on MW-2 had been removed from
the collar of MW 2, so it could be sampled and water level measured
Ground water elevations were obtained from two wells pnor to any teff pumping
activities Each of the wells was evacuated by means of a steam-cleaned, stainless
steel bladder-type pump At least three well volumes of water was removed from
each of the wells prior to sampling so as to achieve stability in the well Stability
was measured as the wells were being pumped by testing for pK temperature, and
electrical conductivity The samples were then taken using disposable teflon
bailers
Immediately after they were collected, the samples were labeled and transported
under chain of custody to Geo Monitor Laboratories, a state certified lab
Samples were transported in an ice chest containing both blue ice and crushed ice
as per the San Joaquin County requirements
The samples were analyzed for purgeable aromatic hydrocarbons by EPA method
602 and TPH-gasoline by LUFT method 5030 The analytes and concentrations
are listed in Table 2 of this report
I
