' Royal Oak Savings & Loan
510 North Main Street, Manteca, CA
' Quarterly Ground Water Sampling Report
NARRATIVE Sue Code #12393
I
On July 23, 1992, WHF Environmental Consultants, Inc , in conjunction with HKM
Inc., conducted field measurements, well pumping, and ground water sampling on 3
Igroundwater monitoring wells located at this site
Groundwater elevations were taken from all 6 wells prior to pumping (Table 1) Each
well was evacuated by means of a steam-cleaned, stainless steel bladder-type pump
The samples were taken using a polyethylene disposable bailer At least 3 well
volumes were pumped from each well During the 3 volume pump down each well,
samples were collected to measure the field pH, electrical conductivity, and
temperature. Once stability was achieved and a minimum of three (3) well -volumes
were removed, the samples were collected The samples were then labeled and placed
' in an ice chest cooled with blue ice and crushed ice
The samples were then logged on a Chain of Custody and transported to GeoAnalytical
Laboratories, a State certified laboratory in Modesto, California The analysis
requested for the 6 water samples was EPA method 602 for purgeable aromatic
hydrocarbons and method 5030/LUFT for total petroleum hydrocarbons - gasoline The
analytes and concentrations detected are listed in Table 2 of this report.
The groundwater elevations noted in this quarter's (July) measurements are referenced
on the groundwater chart in Table 1 of this report. Measurements are taken monthly,
and the Groundwater Gradient for July shows a Northwesterly-Trending Trough in the
water table However, both the August and September measurement show a Westerly-
trending trough In addition, the water level dropped from 0 52 to 2.42 feet in the
monitoring wells between the July and August measurement events, but remained
relatively stable between August and September
SUMMARY OF ANALYTICAL FINDINGS
Monitoring Wells 2, 7, and 8, were sampled on July 23, 1992. Wells 2 and 8 tested
. "none detected" for all compounds Well 7 tested positive for benzene, toluene,
xylenes, and gasoline This result was assumed to be incorrect due to the fact that
