Box 2009 J u L 0 1 9992
Stockton, California 95201
ENVIRONMENTAL H£ALTh
Dear Ms. Lagorio,
PERMIT/SERVICIS
I have reviewed the air quality permit application for a soil vapor
extraction system, dated June 15, 1992, for the Royal Oak Savings and
Loan project, 510 North Main Street, Manteca, Calzfonria, submitted by
WHF Environmental Consultants, Inc.
MW-2, which will be used as the extraction well in this proposal, was
A,installed by another consultant and the details of well construction are
not available in WHF files. However, if the well was constructed
according to accepted procedures, screened casing would extend from
the bottom of the well (30 feet) up to a depth of ten or fifteen feet
below the surface This would give approximately eight to thirteen feet
of perforated casing above the water table as determined on the 4/09/92
monitoring event.
A vapor extraction test conducted on MW-2, using an EG&G Rotron
model DR 505 pump, on 5/29/92 demonstrated that significant quantities
of contaminants were extracted in the vapor pulled from the well (see
Appendix C in application) . This is the pump that will be used to
operate the system once it is installed.
I concur with the work plan as proposed in the application and affix my
signature and seal to this letter as confirmation of my approval of the
above referenced application
Sincerely, 5k GF1p
oz
`< ® Ross R Grunwald 0
3948
Ross R.
