Oro Street in our Stockton
District may be a conduit for contamination from the clean-up site at 4075 Main
Street, and requesting that Cal Water destroy this inactive well. Additionally, we are
requesting via this letter the data and other information that forms the basis of the
concern that the well has served as a conduit.
Per request from Ms. Ellsaesser, we have included VOC and bacteriological data
from a sampling event at 931 S. Oro Street. The only detections were
trihalomethanes, found at levels well below the allowable health limit; these are by-
products of chlorination and are expected.
Cal Water will expeditiously destroy Well No. 20-01. Prior to commencement
of the project, a copy of the well destruction permit will be provided to each of you
when obtained by our contractor. After completion of the project, a copy of the well
destruction report will be provided to each of you when obtained by our contractor.
The expected date of completion is January 2014.
Our agreement to destroy this well does not in any way constitute an admission
that the well has served as a conduit for contamination from the 4075 Main Street
clean-up site. Your a-mail correspondence on September 3, 2013 was the first time
Cal Water has received correspondence from any agency about the 4075 Main Street
clean-up site.
DISTRICT OFFICES: ANTELOPE VALLEY• BAKEREREtD• BAYSHORE• BEAR GULCH•CHICO • DIXON •EAST LOS ANGELES •KERN RIVER VAUEV • KING CITY
LIVERMORE•LOS ALTOS•MARYSVILLE•OROVILLE-RANCHO DOMINGUEZ•REDWOOD VALLEY•SALINAS•SELMA•STOCKTON•VISALIA•WESTLAKE•WILLOWS
