Failure to perform this procedure
correctly again may result in SJC/EHD not accepting the reported information, and a
remobilization to collect the data in the appropriate manner.
To reiterate, each quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling event must begin by
opening all monitoring wells belonging to the site, allowing them to equilibrate to the
ambient air pressure, followed by the measurement of all depth to waters. These initial
depth to water measurements must be taken prior to the purging or sampling of any wells.
SJC/EHD is providing to you, and your consultant, a copy of their recommended
procedures for conducting routine quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling events.
SJC/EHD would appreciate a depth to water measurement recorded immediately
following purging, with the time of the measurement noted.
Forty-eight hours notice to SJC/EHD is required prior to all site fieldwork, which includes
routine quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling events. The next quarterly
groundwater monitoring and sampling event must take place in December 2003.
SJC/EHD must be notified of this event at least forty-eight hours before it takes place.
If you have any questions or comments please call Lori Duncan at (209)468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
CCIA-
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS Nuel C.
