Main Street.
The soil and groundwater beneath the JAMAR site has been impacted by an unauthorized
release of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination from their UST's, and they are under EHD
directive to complete a site investigation and remediation of the contamination resulting from
this release. The plume of contamination in groundwater has spread offsite under Main
Street towards the east/southeast. Active remediation to clean up the groundwater has been
in operation onsite for several years, but the offsite contamination needs to be addressed.
Three groundwater monitoring wells belonging to the JAMAR site are located in the street
and sidewalk along Main Street in front of your property. ATC is asking that you allow them
to temporarily park a pickup truck and trailer on your property so they can safely perform
remediation on two of these wells without having to locate in the street or block the sidewalk.
They would only be onsite during week-day, daylight hours. They will not leave anything
onsite overnight or over a weekend. You will be notified by ATC prior to their arrival onsite.
The EHD requests that, in the interest of the safety of both ATC's employees who will be
onsite and local pedestrians, and in the interest of getting the groundwater in the
neighborhood cleaned up, you please allow them temporary access your property.
If you have any questions please contact me at (209) 468-0337.
Sincerely,
Lori Duncan,Duncan, REHS
Senior Registered Environmental Health Specialist
c: Mike Sonke, ATC Associates, Inc., 1117 Lone Palm Avenue, Ste 125, Modesto, CA 95351
