. Groundwater samples will be transported to the laboratory and analyzed within the EPA-
specified holding time for requested analysis.
Each sample container submitted for analysis will have a label affixed to identify the job
number, sample date, time of sample collection, and a sample number unique to that
sample. Samples will be analyzed by a California-certified laboratory
A chain-of-custody form will be used to record possession of the sample from time of
collection to its arrival at the laboratory. When the samples_will be shipped, the person in
custody of them relinquishes the samples by signing the chain-of-custody form and noting
the time. The sample control officer at the laboratory will verify sample integrity and
confirm that it was collected in the proper container, preserved correctly, and that there is
an adequate volume for analysis.
5.0 VAPOR EXTRACTION TESTS
The VET will be conducted while the groundwater pumping is progressing in order to
ensure that the maximum amount of screened interval in the pumping well will be available
for the VET. A 100-cubic-foot per minute (cfm) blower will be used to induce a vacuum in
the test well. Other monitoring wells at the site will be monitored for vacuum influence.
Effluent airstream temperature, flow rate, and inches of vacuum will be monitored and
recorded during the VET. Extracted vapors will be routed from the test well into a 200-
pound carbon canister prior to discharge.
Vapor stream samples will be collected with a sampling pump into Tedlar bags. Each
sample bag submitted for analysis will have a label affixed to identify the job number,
sample date, time of sample collection, and a sample number unique to that sample.
Samples will be analyzed by a California-certified laboratory
A chain-of-custody form will be used to record possession of the sample from time of
collection to its arrival at the laboratory.
