TANK CLOSURE REPORT—BEACON #474
• 3440 East Main Street
Stockton, California
AMV Project No. 19012.03
stockpile were resampied as requested by Mr. Infurna. Stockpile soil sample analytical results
are compiled in Table 3. Copies of certified analytical reports for the stockpiled soil samples
are presented in Appendix C. The soils were removed from the site and transported to
Ultramar's Hanford facility for remediation by thin-spread aeration.
6,0 SUMMARY AND DISCUSSION
Approximately 1,000 cubic yards of soil were removed from the site. The tank basin area was
overexcavated to a depth of 30 feet below grade. Excavation and sampling indicate that the
lateral and vertical extent of hydrocarbon-impacted soils was defined. Soil samples collected at
the limits of the excavations indicate that TPHg was not present at detectable concentrations.
Trace amounts (less than 0.5 mg/kg) of BTEX components were reported in soil samples
collected at a depth of 30 feet below grade in the excavation beneath the former underground
storage tanks. The overexcavated areas have since been backfilled by Walton Engineering using
clean sand backfill that was compacted in accordance with recognized engineering practices.
Mr. Infurna of San Joaquin County has requested installation of three ground water monitoring
wells at the site to determine the presence or absence of detectable concentrations of petroleum
constituents in ground water beneath the property. AMV is currently preparing a work plan to
install ground water monitoring wells for agency review.
7.0 REMARKS
The opinions and conclusions contained in this report represent our professional opinions. These
opinions are based on currently available information and were developed in accordance with
currently accepted hydrogeologic and engineering practices at this time and location. Other than
this, no warranty is implied or intended.
We recommend that a copy of this report be submitted to:
Mr. Mike Infurna
Environmental health Division
Department of Public Health Services
Post Office Box 2009
445 North San Joaquin Street
Stockton, California 95201
R"0122CD
