(Ultramar); Horizon Environmental Inc. (Horizon) has
m
prepared this report suman2ing the results of a soil vapor extraction test (VET) and an air
sparge test (AST) performed at the subject site (Figure 1, Site Vicinity Map). These tests
were .performed to evaluate soil- and.groundwater remediation alternatives for the subject
property. The site is an.operating gasoline service station located on the southwestern corner
of the intersection of East Nfain Street and Broadway in Stockton, California. Site facilities
. include a station building, two gasoline product dispenser islands located north of the station
building, and three underground gasoline storage tanks (USTs) located toward the eastern
property boundary. Locations of these and other pertinent site features are shown on the Site
Plan(Figure 2).
VAPOR EXTRACTION" TEST PR'OCEDURES
Pnor .to initiating testing, H"orizon 40l pilot test notification form to the San Joaquin
Valley Air Pollution ContraID'istret. In addition, a
Horiba hydrocarbon vapor analyzer was used to measure the hydrocarbon concentration of
the soil vapor..
The VET was performed on December 9, 1999. A two-horsepower Rotron regenerative
blower was used to establish a well vacuum and initiate flow. The blower was piped to a
manifold equipped with a dilution valve, pitot tube, pressure and temperature gauges and a
? sample port. Extracted soil gas was routed through one-200 pound activated carbon unit for
k
treatment. Flow was initially established at 39 standard cubic feet per minute scfrti) at a
vacuum of 22 inches of water column. Approximately 1.5 hours into the test, a vacuum leak
;. associated with a caml'ock fitting was detected and corrected. As a result, flowrate, vacuum
..• and hydrocarbon field screen data obtained between 9.30 AM and 10:45 AM are considered
501] Golden Foothiii per Suite 7 .
