THE CUSTOMFF
COMM
Public Health Department
San Joaquin County IV:
P.O. Box 2009
Stockton, Calif 95201 L ,•5, J
Jogi Khanna
Re : Food & Liquor #76
890 N. Main
Manteca, Calif
Dear Mr . Khanna:
This letter is in response to your letter dated 10-9-90
concerning additional work at this site . Upon receipt of your
letter, I contacted Dames & Moore to sample the wells . This
report is enclosed stating that no contamination was found on
October 24, 1990 .
Upon the results of this and past well samplings, I wish to
request a closure of this site for the following reasons :
1. Well samples taken on October 24, 1990 shows no contamination.
2 . Well samples taken on May 27, 1988 shows no contamination.
3. Well samples taken on April 28, 1987 shows no contamination.
4 . Well samples taken on March 3, 1987 show benzene
contamination, but these samples were taken during the
construction of this station with the old tanks being removed and
new double wall tanks installed and all contaminated soil being
removed. The tests results could have been affected by this
activity. Samples were taken less than two months later showing
no contamination.
5. The report from Kleinfelder (enclosed) dated June 21, 1988
states, on page 2 under "Conclusions", that groundwater
contamination no longer appears to be present and the soil
remediation that was done removed any source to groundwater .
Kleinfelders recommendation is that no more action is required at
this site .
6 . The Customer Company has spent over $90,000 to cleanup this
THE CUSTOMER COMPANY, P.O. BOX 886, BENICIA, CALIFORNIA 94510, TEL. (707) 745-6691, FAX (707) 746-0130
1
