• Summary Report <br /> Environmental Investigation and Remediation <br /> Cheaper Store #76 <br /> 890 North Main Street <br /> Manteca, California <br /> 1. Background <br /> The project site is located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Jason <br /> and Main Streets to Manteca, California (see Figure 1 - Site Location Map). <br /> The site measures about 0 5 acres in size and has a single structure in the <br /> eastern portion of the site and gas pumps under a canopy near Main Street. <br /> The site is paved except for a landscaped areas near the corner and along the <br /> southern property line Two 10,000 gallon double walled underground <br /> gasoline storage tanks are between the store and the gas islands. The site is <br /> currently used as a convenience store facility and retails gasoline. <br /> On February 25, 1987, two 10,000 gallon steel tanks were removed by <br /> California Petroleum Egwpment from the subject site. Six soil samples were <br /> collected by Kleinfelder during tank removal, four from under the tanks and <br /> • two under the pump island The samples were analyzed for TPH-g, BTX and <br /> total lead. Some samples had detectable amounts of these compounds, as <br /> shown below. <br /> Sample I.D.
