Box 2009 <br /> Stockton, California 95201 <br /> SUBJECT: Food & Liquor Store 76, Manteca, California <br /> Dear Laurie: <br /> The enclosed analytical results are for the soil samples collected on <br /> March 19, 1987 at the Food & Liquor store located at 890 North Main <br /> Street, Manteca, California (Plate 1) . Three soil samples were collected <br /> at an approximate depth of 15 feet from the perimeter of the continued <br /> excavation. <br /> The soil beneath and around the old pump island was excavated down to the <br /> ground water table. The original tank excavation was continued an <br /> additional 23 feet toward North Main Street. <br /> Soil sample S-7 was collected at the north side of the continued <br /> excavation, S-8 at the west side, and S-9 at the south side. The <br /> approximate locations of the continued excavation and sampling points are <br /> shown on Plate 2. The soil samples were analyzed for volatile aromatics <br /> (benzene, toluene, xylene) and total petroleum hydrocarbons.
