KLEINFELDER
August 17, 1987
File: 24-2053-1
Mr. John Johnson
The Customer Company
P.O. Box 886
Benicia, California 94510
SUBJECT: Soil. Aeration, Food and Liquor Store 76, Manteca, California
Dear J.J.
Eighteen truckloads of soil (approximately 325 cubic yards) were hauled
from Food and Liquor Store f76 to Manteca Sand and Gravel. Five sections
of soil were aerated according to San Joaquin County Air Pollution Control
District guidelines. Each section of 60 to 65 cubic yards was aerated for
approximately two weeks.
Upon completion of the aeration, a PID organic vapor survey was conducted
on each section of soil. A sample was collected and analyzed from the
last four sections. After the PID survey each section of soil was
transported to the Austin Road Landfill.
This letter is to inform you the last section of soil (Pile #5) was
screened and sampled on August 17, 1987. Manteca Sand and Gravel has been
notified they can haul the last soil pile to Austin Road Landfill. Once
all of the analytical results have been received, the landfill will be
notified regarding final soil disposal. The results of the soil aeration
will be incorporated into the investigation report prepared for Food and
Liquor Store 076.
•
