Investigation Tank Removal Sampling Six soil samples were collected by 1Cleinfelder during tank removal, four from under the tanks and two under the pump island. The samples were analyzed for TPH-g, BTX and total lead. Some samples had detectable amounts of these compounds, as shown below. The samples were also tested for ethylene dibromtde, diesel, kerosene, motor oil, other petroleum hydrocarbons and C9 to C36 compounds The samples were non-detect for those compounds. Soil pile samples collected on February 26, 1987 showed no TPH-g, but had 13 and 5.3 ppm of C9 - C36 compounds, and one sample had 10 ppb toluene and 1,720 ppb xylenes. Overexcavation Sampling The original tank pit was expanded to the northwest under the former location of the gasoline pumps, reaching a depth of fifteen feet BGS. Three samples were obtained from the extended area.
