On February 25ed by California ar
, 1987, two 10,000 gallon steel tanks were remov
Petroleum equipment from the subject'site. Sax soil samples were collectedby t
1 Xleinfelder dung tank removal, four from under the tanks and two under tYie
pump island: The samples were analyzed for TPH-g; BTX and total lead. Some ,
samples, had detectable amounts'of these compounds, as shown below.
other pelroleum,hydrocarbons and C9 to C36 compounds.*The Samples were non, - t
detect fof those compounds.
Soil pile samples collected on'Febr'uary 26, 1987 showed no TPH-g,but had 1.3 and,
5.3 ppm of C9 =C36 compounds,and,one sample had 10 ppb-toluene and 1,720 ppb,
xylenes. r r
On March 5, ,1987, Kleinfeldex consultants reported-that 3 monitor wells (MW-1 _
through MW-3) were installed on March 2, 1987, south,,north and northwest,
respectively, of the former underground storage tank location. The wells were
developed andsampled March 3, 1987. Groundwater was encountered at 13 feet 'r ;
below ground, surface. All groundwater samples were m
analyzed for total petroleur
hydrocarb`onsas gasoline (TPH-g) and benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylenes'
(BTEX).,All samples were non detect except for benzene, detected at 3 5 parts per
billion (ppb) in MW-1 and 13 ppb in MW-3.
On November 13, 1987, IQeinfelder requested to dispose of purge, and sample water -
collected from the wells. The purge and sample water collected April 28, 1987 was
non detect. On June 21, 1988, Xleinfelder report documented that groundwater '
samples Collected May 27, 1988•were non detect. The depth to groundwater was 20
feet below ground surface. In a November 12, 1990 report, Dames and Moore
documented that groundwater samples were collected on October 24, 1990 All
samples were non detect. Depth to groundwater was 25.3 feet below ground surface
A fourth monitoring well was installed at the site on September 6, 1991, by Parker
Environmental Services Soil samples analyzed from the boring were all non-detect
for TPH g and BTEX Groundwater samples obtained on September 11, 1991 from all
four morutonng wells were also non-detect for TPH-g and BTEX Depth to
groundwater was 28 to 29 feet below ground surface.
