Project 113-13
Apnl 26, 1995
Page 3
. Shallow groundwater measurements indicate the water table is approximately 1 foot
higher than measurements taken in January 1995 and over 3 feet higher than,July
1994 The groundwater flow direction is S53°W, with a gradient of about 0.00065 (6.5
feet./ 1,000 feet), as shown in Figure 2, the Groundwater Elevation Map.
Groundwater elevations over the last year are shown in Chart 1. The groundwater
at the site has reached its highest level in two years
Chart 1 Groundwater Elevation Measurements
Cheapen #76
14 ® MW-1
12 [] MW-z
71
10 ® MW-3
$ ® MW-4
s
4
. 2
0
April 94 July 94 January 95 April 95
Each monitoring well was purged using a submersible electric pump prior to
sampling About 12 gallons were removed from each well, at least five well
volumes per well After each well was purged, a sample was taken using a teflon
bailer The water from each well was placed in two 40-milliliter vials filled so that
there was no air (head space) remauung in them Samples were labeled and placed
on ice in a cooler for transport to a state certified hazardous materials testing
laboratory, McCampbell Analytical of Pacheco, California
The pump and electronic water level meter were cleaned in one bucket with TSP
(trisodium phosphate) and two separate buckets with tap water after being used for
each well. The bailer was cleaned in the TSP solution, rinsed two tunes in tap water,
and rinsed with distilled water between each use All purge water and equipment
wash water was placed in 55-gallon steel drums and remains on-site Copies of the
Water Sample Data Forms are attached to this report
The samples were analyzed for TPH-gasoline and BTEX using EPA Methods
5030/8015 modified, and 602 The wells analyzed ND except for trace amounts in
MW-4 (see Figure 3 - Hydrocarbon Concentration Map) A copy of the laboratory
report and Chain of Custody form are attached to this report
Parker Environmental Services 190 East 7th Street Pittsburg CA 94565-6116
Phone (510) 439-1024 Fax (510) 439-2566
