Report on May 19, 1992, Subsurface Sampling and Analysis Results at <br /> Cheaper #76, 890 North Main Street, Manteca, California <br /> Dear Mr. Johnson: <br /> This report describes the field methods used tvo obtain subsurface soil samples and a <br /> groundwater sample from the Subject site%and-the laboratory analysis results for the <br /> �.,. samples. The purpose of this Site Investigation is to evaluate if petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons are present in the soil near the former tank excavation walls by <br /> collecting soil samples above the water table. A groundwater sample was collected <br /> from MW-4 and analyzed to evaluate groundwater conditions. <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The project site is located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Jason and <br /> Main Streets in Manteca, California (see Figure 1 - Site Location Map). The site <br /> measures about 0.5 acres in size and has a single structure in the eastern portion of <br /> the site and gas pumps, undera canopy near Main Street. The site is paved except for <br /> landscaped areas near the corner and along the southern property line. Two 10,000 <br /> gallon underground gasoline storage tanks are between the store and the gas islands. <br /> The site is currently used as a convenience store facility and retails gasoline under <br /> the name Cheaper! #76. <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> On February 25; 1987, two 10,000 gallon steel tanks were removed by California <br /> Petroleum Equipment from the subject site. Six soil samples were collected by <br /> Kleinfelder during tank removal, four from under the tanks and two under the <br /> pump island. The samples were analyzed for TPH-g, BTX and total lead.
