3v -
5
N
I, H. KLEINFELDER & ASSOCIATES
A ground water monitoring well will he constructed in each of the three
borings at Lha completion of drilling. To preclude introduction of
contaminants into the underlying ground water, monitoring wells should be
installed in soil borings where there is a high concentration of petroleum
hydrocarbons. J.11. Kleinfelder will install a ground water monitoring
well in soil borings with high petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations if
directed by the client (Food and Liquor) and the San Joaquin local Health
District. The actual locations of the wells will be selected in the
field.
Proposed construction details of the ground water monitoring wells are as
follows:
o The well casing will be two-inch inside-diameter, flush-threaded
joint, schedule 40 PVC pipe.
o The wells will be constructed in 8-inch diameter boreholes.
o Well screen sections will be perforated with 0.020-inch
factory--cut slots.
O The screened section may be set five feet above ani fifteen feet
below depth where ground water is first encountered unless:
(1) semi-confided or confined aquifer conditions are encountered,
or (2) high petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations are indicated.
if either of these two conditions exist, the top of the screen
will be placed at the depth ground water is first encountered.
o The PVC pipe will be steam-cleaned prior to installation.
,. The annular apace between the pipe and the wall of the, boring
will be backfilled with clear. Lone star industries 2/12 Monterey
sand to approximately one foot above the top of the p.-.rforated
section. __
36-87-1037 5
