Main <br /> Stockton, CA <br /> We have reviewed the November 17, 1989 Soil and Groundwater <br /> Assessment Report prepared by Kleinfelder Associates for the above <br /> site. Three monitoring wells were installed and sampled twice <br /> during the reporting period. Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected <br /> in two downgradient soil borings and in the downgradient monitoring <br /> well during each round of sampling;. <br /> Based on the information in the Kleinfelder report, the East Bay <br /> Municiapl Utilities District (EBMUD) proposal to conduct quarterly <br /> monitoring is unacceptable. . Two rounds of sampling have confirmed I <br /> that groundwater beneath the site has been impacted. EBMUD should <br /> submit a workplan for further investigation to define the extent of <br /> the contamination.
