In July 1987, a 1,004Vllon underground diesel and a <br /> I 1,000-gallon regular gasoline tank were removed by EBMUD and Universal Engineering. <br /> The structures and tank locations are shown on the Site Plan, Plate 3. Soil sampks were i <br /> ;.� collected from below the ends of each tank and submitted to an analytical laboratory for <br /> analyses. A summary of the analytical results is discussed in Section 22- <br /> 2.2 <br /> 22.2 PREVIOUS INVESIZGATIONS <br /> i.j <br /> in a report titled"Fatal Report,Removal of Fuel Storage Tanks"dated December 14, 1987, <br /> Universal Engineering, Inc. reported its activities concerning the removal of the <br /> it <br /> underground fuel storage tanks at the project site. Analytical results and other data were <br /> reported in a letter from Universal Engineering. Inc. titled "Mud Report Data, ! <br /> -.Underground Tank Closure at EBMUD Yard, 1804 West Main Street, Stockton, QV <br /> dated January 27, 1988. Laboratory results indicated the presence of gasoline c onotuents E <br /> in the soil beneath the east end of the gelsolin tank The soil sample contained benzene at f <br /> 10 mg/kg,toluene at 21 mg/kg.#Imes at 66 mg/kg and total hydrocarbons at 940 mg/kg. <br /> !'1 Soil samples from beneath tfie concrete vault were collected during the removal of the # <br /> U vault by Universal Engineering. Analytical results for soil samples collected beneath the <br /> �y diesel tank were none detected. <br /> 23 REGULATORY ACTION <br /> To date no regulatory action has been taken against EBMUD concerning the removal of <br /> i� the fuel storage tank.
