Box 2009 ) <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> Dear Dr. Khanna: <br /> Re : EBMUD Stockton Center, 1804 West Main Street, Site Code 1169 <br /> In a letter dated October 7 , 1992 ( copy attached) the San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services Environmental Health Department <br /> ( EHD) requested that this District submit a final Remedial Plan <br /> for its Stockton Center by December 14 , 1992 . In a telephone <br /> conversation on December 1 , 1992 , the EHD agreed to extend the <br /> submittal due date to January 29 , 1993 . It has since been <br /> determined that remediation costs will exceed the amount that can <br /> be approved by staff, and approval by the District' s Board of <br /> Directors will be required. <br /> The District is currently making every effort to expedite the <br /> approval process . The project is now being managed by Mr . Jay <br /> Witherspoon at ( 510 ) 287-1635 . Mr . Witherspoon will be the <br /> contact between the District and EHD for this project. <br /> The District has established a schedule and identified milestones <br /> to achieve remediation objectives at the Stockton facility. A <br /> schedule detailing the steps necessary to obtain Board approval <br /> and implement remediation is attached. Milestones identified in <br /> the schedule include : <br /> Issue Request for Qualification (RFQ) 1/25/93 <br /> Complete RFQ Selection 3/05/93 <br /> Issue Request for Proposal (RFP) 3/19/93 <br /> Complete Consultant Selection 5/07/93 <br /> Obtain Contract Approval by District Board 5/25/93 <br /> Issue Notice to Proceed 5/28/93 <br /> Complete Workplan by Consultant 7/02/93 <br /> Complete Permitting and Characterization 8/06/93 <br /> Implement Site Remediation and Monitoring 8/06/93 <br /> P.O.BOX 24055.
