C
obtain additional data closer to the suspected source.
B. HydroPunch Ih Sampling
The HydroPunch R* samples will be collected by drilling borings with a 6 1/4
inch outside diameter, 41/4 inch inside diameter hollow-stem auger until groundwater
is reached, approximately 12 feet bgs. .Once in the saturated zone, a HydroPunch IIW
tool will be inserted into the boring. A dedicated stainless steel HydroPunch Ho cone
and 4'/2 foot long, 1 3/8 inch inner diameter Schedule 20 polyvinyl chloride (PVC)-
screen with 0.02-inch factory slots will be advanced into the boring approximately 3
to 4 feet below the water table or top of the saturated zone with a steel drive casing.
A groundwater sample will then be collected using a 1 inch diameter Teflon bailer.
After the sample is collected, the boring will be grouted. to ground surface with a
Class I/II cement/5% bentonite grout.. Grouting activities will be witnessed by a
representative from the San Joaquin County Health Services Department (SJCHSD).
The groundwater samples will be collected in 40 ml,vials with Teflon* lined
caps. The samples will be submitted to the District laboratory for TPH-g and BTEX
analyses. The analytical methods, sample containers, preservatives, and holding times
are specified in Appendix C. The samples will be numbered and packaged as
specified in Section 3A.
C. Groundwater Monitoring Well Drilling Method and
Construction
The two soil borings will be extended below the water table and completed as. ,
L monitoring wells. The monitoring well borings will be drilled with a truck-mounted
CFHSA drilling rig as specified in-Section 3A to a depth of approximately 25 feet
bgs, approximately 15 feet below the water table. The wells will be constructed of
4 inch diameter, PVC casing with 20 feet of 0.02=inch factory.slotted screen. The
wells will be constructed such that 5 feet of the screen is above the water table at the
time of installation. A Monterey sand #3 gravel pack will be used. The cement
bentonite grout will be tremied into_place and witnessed by a representative from
SJCHSD. A flush-mounted protective casing will be installed over the top of each
monitoring well. The proposed-monitoring construction diagram is presented on
CFigure 4-2.
93R22 East Bay Municipal Utility District
40429200.wp 16 Work Plan-Stockton Service Center
e
C -
