NATEC 359/020 LOG 9891 - 2 - August 13 , 1987
Details of the analytical methodology are consistent with require-
ments specified in "Guidelines for Addressing Fuel Leaks,"
Regional Water Quality Control Board, San Francisco Bay Region,
revised 1986; the preparation procedures used are described in
detail. in "Headspace Method," Method 5020 in "Test Methods for
Evaluating Solid Waste, Physical/Chemical Methods," U.S. EPA, SW-
846, 2nd edition, revised 1984.
Additionally, the samples were analyzed to measure total lead
content. Briefly, the samples were prepared for analysis by
digestion with heat, nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide. The
filtered digests were then analyzed by inductively coupled argon
plasma atomic emission spectroscopy in accord with method 6010,
U.S. EPA SW-846 (ibid.)
Ethylene dibromide measurement was performed by Curtis & Tompkins
Laboratory in San Francisco.
Results of analyses are summarized in Table 1. Attached is the
sample custody document.
