Box 2809
Stockton, CA 95201
Dear Mr. Wilson:
Re: Underground Tank Remo a D ac i - W. Main Sjreety StreetStockton
In response to our recent telephone conversation, the following information is
provided on the removal of the underground fuel tank from the EBMUD facility
at 1804 W. Main Street, Stockton, California.
Enclosed is a complete, revised report from Polymatrix Associates, Inc., the
consultants who provided sampling and chain-of-custody support for the tank
. removal. As we previously discussed, the original report presented some
potentially misleading statements and data.
The EDB analysis was performed by Curtis and Tompkins Laboratory and not Brown
and Caldwell as originally reported.
Secondly, the lead result represents total lead (inorganic and organic), and
the notation "Lead as TEL" is misleading. A background soil sample has been
taken and will be analyzed for total lead. The two values that are reported
represent samples taken from beneath the regular gasoline tank. The data from
the three analyses will be compared to determine if the tank samples are in
the same range as the background.
Additional soil has been removed from the east end of the gasoline tank site.
I will contact you within the next two weeks to arrange a resampling.
) y truly yours,
1
VINCENT T.
