ERI 205513 QS2 Unocal Service Station 5886 Stockton, California October 6, 1997 <br /> Department, it appears that underground utilities servicing the site and surrounding properties <br /> have been modified during recent construction at the March Lane and U S Interstate 5 <br /> offramp These utilities are primarily located within the March Lane right-of-way and are <br /> oriented east to west Lateral utility trench lines servicing specific sites are oriented <br /> perpendicular to the main utility lines The locations of utility trenches and surrounding sites <br /> are shown on Plate 3 The deepest utility trench appears to be a 21-inch sewer line located <br /> approximately 70 feet south of the site This line is situated approximately 10 5 feet bgs <br /> directly south of the site and is inclined towards the west measuring approximately 12 feet bgs <br /> 200 feet southwest of the site <br /> • ERI conducted a record search to identify surrounding property owners and forwarded the <br /> assessor's parcel numbers (A P N ) to Tosco personal to allow Tosco personal to obtain an <br /> acceptable access agreement with the appropriate parties Tosco has forwarded access <br /> agreements and is pursuing off-site access agreements with the owners of properties directly <br /> across March Lane (south and southwest) and adjacent to the western Tosco property boundary <br /> to allow off site use of a cone penetrometer (CP) <br /> The following work is being performed <br /> • ERI and Tosco are evaluating data from the underground utility search, third quarter 1997 <br /> groundwater monitoring and sampling, and historic groundwater flow direction (towards the <br /> west-southwest) to select proposed locations to advance a CP into underlying soil ERI <br /> will submit the proposed locations to San Joaquin County PHS/EHD for review and approval <br /> after obtaining data from the fourth quarter 1997 monitoring and sampling event <br /> ERI and Tosco will continue to conduct a further comprehensive review of the data acquired during <br /> previous work and present Quarterly Reports to San Joaquin County PHS/EHD which describe the <br /> status of the proposed work by the dates established by San Joaquin County PHSIEHD <br /> The ongoing work will be completed in accordance with the procedures outlined in ERI'S Work Plan <br /> for Supplemental Environmental Investigation (dated July 14, 1997) and Addendum to Work Plan <br /> (dated August S, 1997) ERI will submit a comprehensive Soil and Water Investigation Report within <br /> 45 days following completion of the field work including installation of monitoring wells <br /> ERI recommends signed copies of this summary report be forwarded to the following <br /> Mr Ronald Rowe, Sr <br /> Site Mitigation Unit <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, California 95202 <br /> 4 <br />
