tv' <br /> ERI ,; - <br /> • ENVIRONMENTAL RESOLUTIONS,,I <br /> April 22, 2002 <br /> ERI 205512 ROI <br /> Mr Ed Ralston <br /> Phillips 66 Company <br /> 1340 Lead Hill Road, Suite 120 <br /> Roseville, California 95661 <br /> Subject Air Sparge Well and System installation, Tosco 76 Facility 5886, <br /> 270f West March Lane, Stockton, California <br /> Mr Ralston <br /> At the request of Tosco Corporation (Tosco), a subsidiary of Phillips Petroleum Company, <br /> Environmental Resolutions, Inc (ERI) observed installation of air sparge (AS) wells in conjunction <br /> with the installation of an ozone microspargmg groundwater remediation system at the subject site <br /> The purpose of the work was to facilitate treatment of hydrocarbon-impacted groundwater beneath the <br /> site <br /> • BACKGROUND <br /> Site Description <br /> The site is located immediately west of Interstate 1-5 on the northwestern corner of West March Lane and <br /> the I-5 off ramp in Stockton, California,as shown on the Site Vicinity Map(Plate 1) The locations of the <br /> existing underground storage tank(UST) field,dispenser pump islands, other select site features,and <br /> surrounding properties are shown on the Generalized Site Plan (Plate 2) Properties in the vicinity of the <br /> site are typically occupied by commercial developments <br /> Previous Environmental Work <br /> It is ERI's understanding that Union Oil Company of California(Unocal)purchased the land in 1967,at <br /> which time the property was vacant In 1982,Unocal constructed a service station at the site and installed <br /> three 12,000-gallon USTs to store gasoline and diesel fuels(Delta Environmental,February 6, 1996) <br /> During 1997, Tosco assumed ownership of the property <br /> Environmental activities previously preformed at the site include the following <br /> Removal of three 12,000-gallon fuel USTs, product piping, and dispensers, and the replacement of <br /> the fuel USTs with one 12,000-gallon and two 15,000-gallon USTs The UST replacement <br /> activities included disposal of approximately 1,200 cubic yards of soil at Forward Landfill in <br /> .
