The 76
Service Station No. 11190 is located at 1206 East March Lane in Stockton (Site).
In the Work Plan, ATC proposed to advance one soil boring for collection of soil samples in the
immediate vicinity of the former oil-water separator, and to install four shallow wells and three
deep wells to complete lateral and vertical delineation of petroleum impacts in groundwater.
The soil boring is proposed to be advanced to a total depth of 20 feet below ground surface (ft
bgs), and ATC proposed to collect soil samples for lithologic description every five feet. ATC
proposed to submit two soil samples for laboratory analysis for: total petroleum hydrocarbons
(TPH) as oil and grease (TPH-OG), TPH as diesel (TPH-D), TPH as gasoline (TPH-G), volatile
organic compounds (VOCs), semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs), polynuclear aromatic
hydrocarbons (PAHs), polychlorinated biphenols (PCBs).
The four shallow monitoring wells are proposed to be screened from 50 to 65 ft bgs, and the
three deep monitoring wells are proposed to be screened from 75 to 80 ft bgs. Soil samples are
proposed to be collected at 5-foot intervals for lithologic logging, and at least two (2) soil
samples from each well boring will be retained for laboratory analysis. ATC proposed to
analyze soil samples for: TPH-G, TPH-D, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes
(BTEX), and fuel oxygenates.
Central Valley Water Board staff concur with the scope of work presented in the Work Plan,
provided the following comments are addressed. Therefore, by 31 May 2017, submit a Well
Installation Report presenting results of this phase of the investigation.
1. Please assure that the two soil samples submitted for laboratory analysis from the oil-
water separator soil boring are collected from native soil and are not backfill material.
KARL E.
