WORKPLAN
GROUNDWATER LEVEL MONITORING PROG
ADDITIONOD P-7 AND P-8
THE SANCTUARY PROJECT ° MCDD
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA OCT 2 6 2005
SCOPE OF SERVICES PERMIT/SERVICES
The scope of services will include the following:
Task 1 Piezometer Installation Development, and Surveying
1.1 Permitting and Pre-field Activities
The EHD requires completion of a well permit, and payment of fees prior to installation
Of piezometers. Because the piezometers are being installed to evaluate the
groundwater conditions, we anticipate that submittal of the workplan to EHD will be
necessary in accordance with the EHD Unit IV. A copy of this workplan will be
submitted with the EHD permit application along with the required fees. The permit
must be approved prior to drilling activities and sampling.
The drilling subcontractor will contact Underground Service Alert and the drilling
locations marked in white paint at least 48 hours prior to conducting fieldwork, and will
notify local utilities of our proposed subsurface assessment.
1.2 Piezometer Installation
At this time, Kleinfelder proposes to install two additional piezometers (P-7 and P-8) to
monitor existing groundwater levels on the west side of the site. Please see the
attached Plate 1 Site Map for the piezometer locations. The installation of the
Piezometers will be completed under the direct supervision of a California State
licensed Engineer or Geologist.
The soil borings will be drilled with a truck mounted drill rig equipped with at least an 6-
inch hollow stem augers. We propose to advance the borings to a total depth of
approximately 25-feet below ground surface (bgs) for the completion of each piezometer.
)f a clay /aye, at /east 5-feet thick is encountered, the boring will be terminated at that
depth below the first encountered water table level. During advancement of the soil
borings, soil samples will be collected at 5-foot intervals for lithologic classification.
Lithologic classification will be based on the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS).
An environmental staff engineer or geologist will log the soil borings. All equipment used
in the drilling and installation procedures will be cleaned and/or decontaminated with a
steam cleaner or Liquinox cleaning solution.
71812.H01/STO6R658/JDZ:Iv Page 1 of
0 2006 Kleinfelder, Inc.
