In KLEINFELDER
WORKPLAN
GROUNDWATER LEVEL MONITORING PROGRAM
THE SANCTUARY PROJECT
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA
INTRODUCTION
This workplan was developed after Kleinfelder's correspondence and meeting with Mr.
Chris Conklin of Grupe, Mr. Heydar Massoudi, and Mr. Rod Gray of Siegfried
Engineering, Inc. (Siegfried) on behalf of Sanctuary by Grupe, LLC (Grupe) and is a
preliminary understanding of Grupe's desires and the needs of the Sanctuary Project.
The Site Map is included in Plate 1, Typical Kleinfelder Field Protocols in Appendix A,
and the Site Health and Safety Plan is included in Appendix B.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
The scope of services will include the following:
Task 1 Piezometer Installation. Development and Surveying
1.1 Permitting and Pre-field Activities
The EHD requires completion of a well permit, and payment of fees prior to installation
of piezometers. Because the piezometers are being installed to evaluate the
groundwater conditions, we anticipate that submittal of the workplan to EHD will be
necessary in accordance with the EHD Unit IV. A copy of this workplan will be
submitted with the EHD permit application along with the required fees. The permit
must be approved prior to drilling activities and sampling.
The drilling subcontractor will contact Underground Service Alert and the drilling
locations marked in white paint at least 48 hours prior to conducting fieldwork, and will
notify local utilities of our proposed subsurface assessment.
1.2 Piezometer Installation
At this time, Kleinfelder proposes to install six piezometers to monitor existing
groundwater levels at the site. The piezometers will be located throughout the
development boundaries in order to assess the groundwater levels in various locations.
Please see the attached Plate 1 Site Map for the proposed piezometer locations. The
installation of the piezometers will be completed under the direct supervision of a
California State licensed Engineer or Geologist.
The soil borings will be drilled with a truck mounted drill rig equipped with at least an 6-
inch hollow stem augers. We propose to advance the borings to a total depth of
approximately 25-feet below ground surface (bgs) for the completion of each piezometer.
71812.H01/ST06R658/JDZ:ly Page 1 of 4
0 2006 Kleinfelder, Inc.
