This work is being done as part of a property transfer baseline
assessment. ;
The borings will be at the locations shown on the enclosed figure. One soil boring will be
in the vicinity of the existing underground storage tanks (USTs), two soil borings will be
f drilled in the vicinity of the pump islands, and one boring will be drilled at the location of
the former UST complex.
Soil samples will be collected at approximately 5-foot intervals'from each boring using a
stainless-steel geo-probe sampler. Up to two soil samples from each boring will be
submitted for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene
and xylenes (TPHG/BTEX) and total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel-extended (TPHD-
extended) analyses. In addition, at least one soil sample collected from the boring adjacent
to the northern pump island will be submitted for chlorinated solvents (Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) Method 8010), and polychlorinated biphenyls ([PCBs] EPA ;
Method 8080) analyses. The sample submitted for PCB analysis will be .held pending
review of initial lab results.
The soil boring driven in the vicinity of the former UST complex will be advanced to
first-encountered groundwater or to a depth of 65 feet. If groundwater.is not encountered
before 65 feet,the boring may be driven deeper if evidence of impacted soil is observed. If
groundwater is encountered, a grab groundwater samplewill be collected from the boring
t with a HydroPuncho sampler. The water sample will be submitted for TPHGBTEX,
TPHD-extended, and chlorinated solvents analyses. The remaining borings will be driven
SAC/PJM52/09520880.2AL-94Afc:2
