RUG-12-1994 12:35 FROM PARK ENVIRONMENTAL CORP. TO 12094640133 P.03
•
nature of the hydrocarbon and compounds found. The fo motes from the soil and groundwater
analytical data from both McCampbell Analytical, Inc. lated November 12, I993 and Alpha
Analytical Laboratories,Inc.dated November 30, 1993 prest i nted in GAS's report(laboratory reports
attached), indicate that the hydrocarbons detected do not match standards for diesel, aged diesel,
gasoline,or aged gasoline. A similar review of the USA sW laboratory reports and chromatograms
suggests that the TPH found may be the heavy end of ohne or the light end of diesel. The
compounds identified during the various site assessm is may in fact be the same type of
hydrocarbons and potentially from the same source(s)-
In order to evaluate this possibility and to address the PHS/ concerns discussed in your January
7, 1994,letter to Manual Sanchez regarding the potential f r co-mingling of contaminant plumes,
and the need for a coordinated effort, Park would like to ollect groundwater samples from the
existing USA wells, the new proposed USA wells and GA 's monitoring wells MW-3 and MW-2
as part of the next quarterly groundwater sampling even. Park would appreciate PHS/EHD
cooperation in assisting Park to obtain access to the G S wells for this important round of
sampling.
The final monitoring well locations will he selected after c ceptual approval for the movement of
the well from the northeast comer of the intersection to a newly proposed location has been ✓
received by Park from the PHS/EHD. We will notify the P S/EHD prior to final marking of these
well sites to obtain concurrence for the locations.
Please contact either of the undersigned at 916.6523861 it our Rocklin office if you have any
questions regarding this submittal. Park has received USA aproval to move forward.with this work
and is prepared to begin field work within ten days after ree pt of all agency approvals, site assess
and necessary easements.
Sincerely,
Park Environmental Corporation
Peter Frank, R.EA.
Project Geologist
f 4r
Richard J.Zipp, R.G., C.E.G.
Principal Hydrogeologist
PF:laa
Enclosures
C:US.4STo3awr~rr-NM0D.rne 2
