i <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> USA Petroleum Corporation (USA) has retained Park Environmental Corporation (Park) to <br /> represent USA in matters pertaining to environmental issues at its facility located at 2132 <br /> Mariposa Road, in Stockton, California (Figure 1) Mr Charles Nichols of USA has authonzed <br /> Park to prepare this workplan for assessment of soil and groundwater at the subject site <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) has <br /> requested that three new groundwater monitoring wells be installed at the subject site to replace <br /> the three shallow monitoring wells that are now dry due to the declining water table in the area <br /> Chemicals previously detected in groundwater have been reported to be gasoline constituents <br /> The source of this product is unknown at this time There is a need to install the additional <br /> monitoring wells and begin the quarterly monitoring program as requested by the County There <br /> is also a need to evaluate the source(s) of the release(s) <br /> 1.1 Purpose <br /> The purpose of the investigation described in this workplan includes the following <br /> • To replace existing groundwater monitoring wells that are too shallow to reach <br /> current groundwater levels <br /> • 0 To begin quarterly groundwater monitoring <br /> • To assess the groundwater flow direction and hydraulic gradient <br /> • To evaluate potential sources of on-site or off-site releases <br /> • To develop a remedial strategy, if appropriate <br /> 12 Scope of Work <br /> The scope of work to be performed by Park includes the following <br /> • Development of a site-specific Site Safety Plan (SSP) <br /> • Obtain all required permits for the dulling and installation of groundwater <br /> monitoring wells <br /> • <br /> Drill and install three replacement groundwater monitoring wells to depths of <br /> approximately 75 feet below the ground surface (bgs) It is anticipated that first <br /> groundwater is at approximately 55 feet bas <br /> A 1125J I WP 1 <br />
