' notes during the investigative work , and Exhibit G contains
copies of the lab results.
On November 19, 19911 Geological Audit Services, Inc. submitted a
workplan to the County EHD for excavation & removal of the
' contaminated soil from the site; (refer to Exhibit F.) That
workplan was not implemented, and no work has been done on the
site since October of 1991 .
tIn June, 1992, Wm. J. Hunter & Associates were retained oy Husky
Crane to review & analyze the prior work, and prepare a workplan
for delineating the vertical & lateral extent of the contamina-
tion encountered during the work in October , 1991. The site of
the removed UST 's is immediately adjacent to the Husky Crane--BUJ
Co. property line as shown on Plate VI. As mentioned earlier , an
' observation well has recently been placed on BJJ property to
monitor possible groundwater- contamination caOsed by a 3500
gallon fuel tank which is located beneath a building and could
not be removed. Soil borings beneath that tank showed
'
significant levels of contaminants, and a water sample tar en from
the monitoring well an December 1991 revealed S5 ppb gasoline.
Besides the existing UST, there were two 2) above-ground
gasoline tanks on the BJJ site about 5G feet northeasterly from
the location of the removed tanks on the HusKy Crane property.
' Those tanks were recently remo-,ed ana replaced with UST s in the
same location. Details of that work have not been reviewed.
During investigative work conducted last year at Husky Crane,
' contamination was noted on the wall of the excavation abatting
BJJ Co. Surface drainage as shown on the € SGS topographic sheet,
(Plate II,) is generally west/southwest , from BJJ towards
' Husky Crane. Based on limited data, the groundwater gradient
as towards the east, away from Husky Crane.
' Although contamination was encountered during investigative work
at Husky Crane at S " bgl immediately adjacent to the BJJ Co.
property, the source of that contamination has not vet been
determineo. Until more information has been obtained , our client
' does not wish Lo conduct investigative work offsite at this time.
Therefore, the following workplan is restricted to the Husky
Crane property only.
' WORKPLAN FOR SOIL INVESTIGATION
1 .
