INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> In accordance with the request of Mr Manuel Sanchez, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) <br /> ' has prepared this Quarterly Report for 2088 Mariposa Road, Stockton, California (the site) The <br /> report summarizes field work performed at the site during October 1995, December 1995, and <br /> February 1996 The scope of work included the installation of three vapor extraction wells, and two <br /> quarterly ground water monitoring and sampling events The location of the site is illustrated in <br /> Figure I -Location Map A plan of the site is illustrated in Figure 2 -Site Plan <br /> 1 The monitoring and sampling was performed in accordance with the San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and the Regional Water Quality <br /> Control Board (RWQCB)guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tank(UST) sites <br /> 4 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> 21 SITE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION <br /> The site is located at 2085 Mariposa Road, on the northwest corner of the intersection of Mariposa <br /> Road and Farmington Road, in a topographically flat area of Stockton, San Joaquin County, <br /> ' California (Figure 1) The site is located within the northeast quarter of Section 46, Township 1 <br /> North, Range 7 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian The site was historically occupied,by Pacific <br /> Gas and utilized as a service station until 1990, and is presently operated by an automobile smog <br /> shop The surrounding area is residential and light industrial <br /> ' Five underground storage tanks and associated piping were removed by Falcon Energy Associates <br /> in May 1990, hydrocarbons were detected in all 17 soil samples collected beneath the,tanks and <br /> piping The excavation was not backfilled after removal of the tanks The San Joaquin County Public <br /> 1 Health Services-Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) required a soil investigation to assess <br /> the extent of contamination at the site <br /> 1 22 DRILLING <br /> ' In March 1993, nine soil borings were advanced to assess the lateral and vertical extent of soil <br /> contamination The results of the investigation were presented in a Preliminary Investigation and <br /> Evaluation Report (April 1993) submitted to PHS-EHD Borings drilled around the margins of the <br /> fuel tank pit (tank pit 41) and in the waste oil tank pit (tank pit #2) did not encounter any soil <br />
