t INTERIM WORK PLAN <br /> FOR MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION <br /> Pacific Gas <br /> 2088 Mariposa Road <br /> ' Stockton, California <br /> February 1995 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> ' In accordance with a request from Mr Manuel Sanchez of Pacific Gas, Geological Audit <br /> Services, Inc (GeoAudit) has prepared this Interim Work Plan for the installation of three <br /> ' groundwater monitoring wells at 2088 Mariposa Road in Stockton, California (the site) The <br /> location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1 A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2 <br /> ' 2.0 BACKGROUND <br /> ' 2.1 Site Location <br /> The site is located in a maxed use area of southeast Stockton and was occupied by Pacific <br /> IPGas as a service station until 1990 (Figure 1) A single structure is located on the northeast <br /> corner of the site (Figure 2) <br /> ' 2.2 Tank Removal <br /> ' Five underground storage tanks and associated piping were removed by Falcon Energy <br /> Associates in May 1990, hydrocarbons were detected in all 17 soil samples collected beneath <br /> the tanks and piping The excavation was not backfilled after removal of the tanks The <br /> ' San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) <br /> required a soil investigation to assess the extent of contamination at the site <br /> ' 2.3 Drilling <br /> In March 1993, GeoAudit drilled nine soil borings to assess the lateral and vertical extent <br /> ' of soil contamination The results were presented in GeoAudit's Preliminary Investigation, <br /> and Evaluation Report (April 1993) Borings drilled around the margins of the fuel tank pat <br /> (tank pit #1) and in the waste oil tank pit (tank pit #2) did not encounter any soil <br /> ' contamination Low concentrations of hydrocarbons were detected in borings 137 and B9, <br /> near the former pipelines GeoAudit recommended further excavation of tank pit #1 <br /> remove impacted soil that might be present below a depth of 15 feet <br /> 0-6,-1 wW S.� <br /> Ngrw p..OWA9 94M2 S <br />
