1
5,0 CONCLUSIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS
5.1 Hydrocarbon Impacted Groundwater
TPH as diesel was reported in all three monitoring wells at similar concentrations TPH as
gasoline was detected in MW-3 near the detection limit (50 ppb) during two of the three
' monitoring events. Since hydrocarbons were present in all wells, further groundwater
investigation is warranted as recommended in the "Monitoring Well Installation and
Quarterly Report - November 1993" prepared by GeoAudit.
Installation of additional wells was delayed to obtain information concerning the USA
Gasoline site immediately south of Pacific Gas It is our understanding that Park
' Environmental, consultant for USA Gasoline, proposes to install three additional monitoring
wells in the area One well is proposed for installation along Farmington Road in front of
Montezuma EIementary School, a second well is proposed to be installed near the California
t Smog property, south of Pacific Gas, and the third well is proposed for the strip mall
immediately east of the USA site
' The installation of additional monitoring wells for the USA site will provide useful
groundwater data for the Pacific Gas site Therefore, we do not propose to install
additional monitoring wells at the Pacific Gas site at this time
' 5.2 Hydrocarbon Impacted Soil
Hydrocarbon-impacted soil is present at the site below the original tank excavation
Therefore, after the lateral extent of impacted groundwater has been defined, a remedial
action plan for impacted soil and groundwater should be prepared
6.0 LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily
' exercised by environmental consultants practicing in this or similar Iocalities The findings
were based upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of
the geologic/hydrogeologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are
' made from a limited number of available data points (i a monitoring wells) and subsurface
conditions may vary away from these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied,
is made as to the professional recommendations contained in this report.
1
aepar A-"Sr-
1
1
t L t !
