r <br /> MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION AND QUARTERLY REPORT <br /> 1 November 1993 <br /> Pacific Gas <br /> 2088 Mariposa Road <br /> Stockton, CA <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> In accordance with a request from Mr Manuel Sanchez of Pacific Gas, Geological Audit <br /> Services, Inc (GeoAudrt) has installed and sampled three (3) monitoring wells and two (2) <br /> soil borings at 2088 Mariposa Road in Stockton, California (the site) The purpose of the <br /> investigation was to define the vertical limit of soil contamination and investigate the <br /> ' possibility of groundwater contamination This report describes the activities performed <br /> during the fourth quai tei of 1993 and presents the results of this investigation <br /> 2 0 BACKGROUND <br /> 2.1 Site Location <br /> Located in a i m al, low-density commer cial area in southeastern Stockton(Figure 1), the site <br /> was occupied by a Pacific Gas service station until 1990 A plan of the site is illustrated in <br /> Figure 2 <br /> 2.2 Tank Removal <br /> 1 Five under sound storage tanks and associated in were removed by Falcon Energy <br /> g g piping <br /> Associates in May, 1990, and hydrocarbon contamination was detected in all 17 soil samples <br /> collected beneath the tanks and piping The San Joaquin County Public Health Services - <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) required a soil investigation to assess the extent <br /> of contamination at the site <br /> 2.3 Drilling <br /> In March of 1993, GeoAudrt drilled nine soil borings to assess the lateral and vertical extent <br /> of soil contamination The results were presented in GeoAudit's Preliminary Investigation <br /> and Evaluation Report (April 1993) Borings drilled around the margins of the fuel tank pit <br /> (tank pit #1) and in the waste oil tank pit (tank pit #2) did not encounter any soil <br /> contamination Minoi contamination was detected in borings 137 and 139, near the former <br /> pipelines GeoAudrt recommended further excavation of tank pit #1 to remove any <br /> contamination that might be present below a depth of 15 feet <br /> 1 GcoluB al A.d I S.-- I.- 1 <br /> F-d.0.02 16437652 S <br />
