1444 MARIPOSA ROAD <br /> WKA No 2307 02 <br /> December 15, 1993 <br /> Page 5 <br /> ' FINDINGS <br /> Laboratory analytical results of the soil samples collected during the installation of the three <br /> ground water monitoring wells revealed no detectable concentrations of TPHg Low but <br /> ' detectable concentrations of benzene were detected in samples obtained from depths of 60 to 70 <br /> feet in monitoring well MW1 and ethylbenzene was detected in the 70 feet sample from well <br /> MW2 Analytical results for the soil samples are summarized in Table 1 <br /> ' Ground water elevation measurements were obtained from the three monitoring wells MWl <br /> through MW3 on October 29, 1993, based on these measurements, the ground water flow <br /> ' direction is to the southwest with a hydraulic gradient of 0 011 feet/foot, as shown on Plate 5 <br /> No free product was observed in the wells Laboratory analytical results of water samples <br /> M collected from the wells revealed no detectable concentrations of TPH as gasoline, diesel, or <br /> motor oil However, benzene was detected in MW2 at a concentration of 1100 ,.g/t and xylene <br /> was detected in MW 1 at a concentration of 0 57 ug/f Analytical results of the water samples <br /> are summarized in Table 2 Laboratory analytical reports and chain-of-custody documentation <br /> for the soil and ground water samples are included in the Appendix <br /> Stockpile Sampling <br /> The stockpiled soils generated during the original excavation were sampled a second time on <br /> December 3, 1993 Analytical results for samples obtained from stockpile #1, located southerly <br /> ' of the excavation, contained no detectable concentrations of TPH or BTEX Analytical results <br /> for samples obtained from stockpile #3 located northerly of the excavation, revealed an average <br /> TPHg concentration of 96 mg/kg Stockpile #2 was generated during the construction of an <br /> ' access ramp and was therefore not sampled <br /> WALLACE KUHL <br /> Recvclez[palrer &ASSOCIATES INC <br />
