i <br /> ' WALLACE - KUHL <br /> &ASSOCIATES INC SITE CONTAMINATION WORKPLAN <br /> 1444 MARIPOSA ROAD <br /> D Stockton, California ' <br /> WKA No 2307 02 <br /> ' C a � �gg2 ecember 4, 1992 <br /> pE � <br /> ' EN`n�O�R I M�Cis P INTRODUCTION <br /> ' We are submitting this site contamination workplan for the subject property (site) <br /> located at 1444 Mariposa Road, in Stockton, California (Plate 1) The site formerly <br /> contained a U S Rentals facility that operated four underground fuel storage tanks, <br /> ' the four fuel tanks were removed in July 1992 by SEMCO, at which time petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon contamination, primarily gasoline, was discovered in the soils to the <br /> vicinity of the former tanks The site is currently vacant <br /> Previous site work by our firm includes the observation of soil' excavation and <br /> I sampling activities performed by SEMCO and GeoAnalytical Laboratories, Inc in <br /> October and September 1992 Excavation and sampling activities were performed <br /> f� <br /> in accordance with SEMCO's Re-Excavation Work Plan of September 1992 <br /> '. Approximately 1500 cubic yards of soil were removed from the vicinity of the fou <br /> former underground fuel tanks and stockpiled on site Laboratory test results for <br /> soil samples obtained from the excavation confirm that all of the petroleum <br /> ' 1 hydrocarbon-contaminated soils have not been removed from the excavation Due <br /> Geotechnical Fngineenng to the size and depth of the excavation, further soil removal would require safety <br /> precautions such as sloped sidewalls, multiple access ramps, -and Cal-OSHA <br /> 6ngniee""g Geology permitting and inspection Prior to implementing these measures; we recommend <br /> Environmental Consulting performing a soil boring investigation to assess the lateral and vertical extent of soil <br /> ' <br /> -s—� contamination in the vicinity of the former tanks so that cost-effective remedial <br /> Remediation Services measures can implemented on the site.
