Interim Remediation Work Plan
BJJ-BLINCO TRUCKING
2431 East Mariposa Road, Stockton, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr. Greg Smith of BJJ Trucking Company, LLC, Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared this Interim Remediation Work Plan for the
property located at 2431 East Mariposa Road, Stockton, San Joaquin County,
California (site). The location of the site is depicted in Figure 1; on-site structures and
previous sampling locations are illustrated in Figure 2.
The site property is located along the south-southwest side of East Mariposa Road and
west-southwest side of the Highway 99 Frontage Road, in unincorporated San Joaquin
County, south of the City of Stockton, California. Highway 99 is located approximately
500 feet east of the property. The property comprises seven parcels, totaling
approximately 16.07 acres.
The scope of work includes the excavation of a limited volume (approximately 100-125
yards) of hydrocarbon-impacted soil and collection of soil samples.
Two 12,000-gallon diesel underground storage tanks (USTs) located northwest of the
'Old Office' building were removed and impacted soil was observed under the western
edge of the UST complex. Two dispensers were located above the USTs and were also
removed during the UST removal. Total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPH-d)
were detected in the western and central soil samples collected at the base of the
excavation at 15 feet bsg beneath each UST; TPH-d was detected in the two western
samples (Tank #1- West/East) at concentrations over 10,000 milligrams per kilogram
(mg/kg) and in the central soil samples at concentrations of 280 mg/kg (Tank#1-Center)
and 410 mg/kg (Tank#2-Center). TPH-d were detected in the composited soil sample
(SP-1,2) at 1,600 mg/kg; and the remaining soil had detections over 100 mg/kg and one
sample had a detection of 6,800 mg/kg. Toluene, ethyl-benzene and total xylenes were
detected in the UST and stockpile samples at minor concentrations less than
0.1 mg/kg.
The work plan provides a description of the scope of work and procedures for soil
excavation and sampling; work will be scheduled to commence prior to the installation
of new Caltrans right of way procurement and construction of a new roadway at the site.
The work plan was prepared as directed by San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department (SJCEHD) requirements for investigation of UST sites.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc.
