KIMM
Inc
U r10 a h
An Environrnenta! Services Company
Gccember 28, 1990
Mr. Charles Hunt
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
1601 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95201
RE: Proposal for Characterization and Remediation of Fuel
Hydrocarbon Contaminated Soils at 13521 East Mariposa
Road, Stockton, CA 95279. Site Code 225345.
Dear Mr. Hunt:
Subsequent to our telephone conversation of yesterday, 2 am
writing to confirm that Uriah Inc, has been engaged by Mr. and
Lairs. A. Ayesh, current owners of the Collegeville Market and
Cafe, 13521 East Mariposa Road, Stockton, CA, to prepare a work
plan and carry out the associated tasks attendant to the
completion of characterization and remediation of fuel hydro-
carbon contaminated soils believed to exist at the above
referenced .facility in cooperation with AAA Tank Removal of
Stockton (a California licensed contractor) .
This work plan is intended to respond to requirements set forth
by the Environmental Health Division of the County of San Joaquin
Department of Public Health Services (PHS/EHD) and meet
guidelines .promulgated by the Central Valley Regional Water
Quality Control Board (RWQCB) .
Specifically, Uriah proposes to define the vertical and lateral
extent of contamination in the two areas of known contamination
(i.e. the tank pit which previously contained one 250 gallon
underground gasoline fuel storage tank; and the second tank
pit which contained one 1 ,000 gallon underground gasoline
storage
tank). This would be accomplished through exploratory
on
with a backhoe or other appropriate mechanical excavator.
Contamination would be tracked organoleptically, with field
instrumentation such as the Photovac "Tip I" vapor analyzer,
and/or a liquid to liquid extraction process known as the Hanby
System. At such time as the extent of contamination had been
determined and/or it becomes unfeasible to excavate further
1 .
464 Lindbergh Avenge Livermore, California 94550 (415) 455-4991
-- rrerrrreM14SR}R"O71®1
