Response: If further sampling is performed the lower
detection limits will be used. The soil results
indicate that if there is any contamination, it
is very minor.
3. Question: WaterWork states on page 1 of this report that
the investigation was conducted in accordance
with their April 20, 1989 proposal . This
proposal states that four monitoring wells and
two soil borings would be drilled during the
field investigation. Only one monitoring well
and one soil boring were attempted at this site.
Further investigation may be required, including
the installation of these remaining monitoring
wells after the evaluation of the resampling
results for the domestic and monitoring wells
located at the site.
Response: Monitoring well 1 was installed next to the
product line leak to determine the vertical
extent of soil contamination. Field observations
and the confirming laboratory analyses did not
detect contamination below 10 feet. Because of
this the additional wells and borings were not
necessary.
4. Question: All residual contaminants detected during field
investigations should be addressed. Discuss and
investigate the source of motor oil and diesel
contamination found in the June 27, 1988 soil
analyses.
Response: The City of Stockton does not and has not ever
had a motor oil/waste oil tank on the police
facility. The diesel tank is used to fuel backup
generators for the facility. This tank has
always passed its integrity tests. To ensure
that the groundwater has not been impacted by
these compounds. The domestic and monitoring
well samples will be analyzed for diesel and oil
and grease in addition to BTEX and TPHG.
5. Question: Show the tanks (labeled with size and product),
dispensers, buildings and wells on a site map
with the surrounding streets labeled.
Response: Figure 1 shows the tanks, dispensers, buildings
and wells on the Police facility.
