CA 95206-1 191 OV13 1992
(209)944-8750
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
November 6, 1992
Clark Well, Inc.
2024 East Charter Way
Stockton, CA. 95205
Attn: Mike Clark
Subject: Police Facility Emergency Well
The City of Stockton is preparing to formally destruct an existing
well located at our police facility located at 22 East Market
Street in Stockton. We request that you provide us with a written
proposal to perform this work.
The well is 8 inches in diameter, approximately 183 feet deep, and
is located in an exterior basement immediately adjacent to the west
wall of the Police Facility Building. The basement is covered by
a galvanized steel grate, a portion of which must be unbolted, cut
and removed to provide access over the well. An overhanging eve on
the building may impose access problems for certain types of
equipment. There is adjacent parking area available which should
be sufficient to accommodate the necessary equipment required to
perform the work.
Mild steel casing extends from the basement floor to -157 feet and
an open hole exists from this point to the bottom. At present, the
well is open with a steel cap tack welded in place. A well video
has been performed and shows no obstructions inside the well. The
open hole portion appears to be relatively stable and no
substantial cavities were apparent.
Please provide a written cost proposal to destruct the well in
conformance with the following requirements:
1. Obtain a Well Abandonment Permit as required by the San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department. Copies of
this permit shall be provided to the City prior to the start
of work and posted on site during the project. All costs for
the permit and associated inspection costs are to be included
in the bid price. Likewise, all coordination for permit
inspections shall be the responsibility of the Contractor.
2. Mobilize and demobilize all required equipment.
"STOCKTON...CALIFORNIA'S SUNRISE SEAPORT"
