While the work performed during 2003 and
2004 covered a greater geographical area(extending across Mountain House Creek to the
north, and extending past Mascot Boulevard to the south), this summary covers a portion
of the work performed, specifically work within the portion of Neighborhood E south of
Mountain House Creek and North of Mascot Boulevard. Work in Neighborhood E was
performed between June 2003 and August a2004.
1.0 SITE BACKGROUND
An approximately 2,000-foot lineal section of the pipeline route crossed the southwestern
portion of Parcel 209-050-08 (the site),which is located north of Grant Line Road, west
of Mountain House Parkway, and adjacent to the western San Joaquin County boundary,
northwest of Tracy, California(Figure 1). Shell operated two pipelines, one 8-inch
diameter and one 10-inch diameter, which carried crude oil from the Central Valley to the
Bay Area. These lines were reportedly removed from the property during the 1960s. The
pipelines ran in a northwest-southeast direction through farmed properties and were
buried at an average depth of approximately four to five feet below ground surface (bgs).
The site is currently owned by Trimark Communities (Trimark), and is currently under
construction as a residential development known as Mountain House. Trimark plans to
• develop the building lots, and sell the finished lots to a builder.
Parcel 209-050-08, also known as Neighborhood E, is scheduled to be developed as part
of the Mountain House Development during 2004 and 2005, and will be bounded by new
www.claytongrp.com -
L
Environmental Services • Occupational Health and Safety • Laboratory Services
