ANTHONY -TAYLOR CONSULTANTS
2240 Vineyard Avenue • Escondido,CA 92029 • (760) 738-8800 • (760) 738-8232 fax
January 29, 1999
San Joaquin County
Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division
Site Mitigation Unit / LOP
304 East Weber Street, Third Floor
Stockton, California 95202
Attention: Ms. Margaret Lagorio
Subject: Site Assessment Work Plan -Proposed AutoZone Site - 151 South Main Street
Dear Ms. Lagorio,
It is our understanding that an unauthorized release of petroleum hydrocarbons has occurred and
is currently being remediated on the property located at 151 South Main Street in the City of
Manteca, County of San Joaquin, California. Our client, AutoZone, Inc., is investigating the
possibility of purchasing the portion of the site that has not been adversely impacted by the
unauthorized release. In accordance with the San Joaquin County requirements and the request
of our client, we have prepared this work plan to assess the possibility that soil contamination
exists beneath the subject site.
Site Assessment Work Plan
Scope of Work
I Anthony-Taylor Consultants proposes to advance three (3) borings on the subject site to depths
of twenty (20) feet below the existing ground surface (See Figure 2, Boring Location Map).
Drilling Technique
Each of the three (3) borings will be advanced with six (6) inch diameter hollow stem augers
utilizing a truck mounted drill rig. Each of the augers will be steam cleaned prior to and after
each boring. Soil cuttings and rinsate generated during the operation will be containerized and
stored on site in 55-gallon DOT approved drums. The drums will be labeled with the property
owners name, the site address, the date of accumulation, the boring number, the consultants
name, and the consultants phone number.
The drums and rinsate, if determined to be hazardous, will be disposed of within 90 days of
accumulation.
i
Escondido, CA • Orange,CA Livermore,CA Las Vegas, NV Houston,TX
