(Versar), on behalf of Bank of America, has been conducting an <br /> environmental investigation at the Bank of America Branch No. 0852 located at 234 West Main <br /> Street in Ripon, California(Site). The Site location and Site layout are shown in Figure 1 and 2, <br /> included in Attachment I, respectively. <br /> Versar proposes hand augering three boreholes at the locations shown in Figure 2. The <br /> hand-augered boreholes will be placed in the accessible area nearest to the auto repair facilities <br /> formerly located at the Site. The location of the former auto repair building at the Site is shown <br /> on the Sanborn Fire Insurance Map included in Attachment II. <br /> Assuming the upper 18 inches of soil at the Site has been disturbed by development, the <br /> boreholes will be augered to a depth of approximately two feet below ground surface (bgs) or to <br /> one foot below the aggregate base. The boreholes will be drilled using hand auger sampling <br /> equipment. One soil sample will be collected at two feet bgs or one foot below the aggregate <br /> base. One soil sample from each of the three boreholes will be submitted to a California certified <br /> laboratory for VOCs analysis by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Method 624. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DIVISION <br /> 304 E.
