\SCEINWRC.
May 12, 1997
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
304 E. Weber Avenue, Third Floor
P.O. Box 388
Stockton, CA 95201-0388
Reference: Workplan and Permits for Subsurface Investigation at the Bank of America Job
Site Located at 234 West Main Street in Ripon, California.
Versar Project No. 3622-500
Dear Sir:
Versar, Inc. (Versar)will be conducting a subsurface investigation at the Bank of
America Branch located at 234 West Main Street in Ripon, California(Site). The activities are
being conducted as part of a property transfer assessment. The field work will be conducted in
two phases. Phase I will consist of a soil gas survey of the Site employing up to 12 monitoring
points. Air samples will be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-G);
benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX). Based on the results of the soil gas
survey provided by an onsite mobile laboratory Versar will proceed to Phase 2. Phase 2 will
consist of the drilling of three boreholes for the purpose of collecting soil and groundwater grab
samples.
The boreholes will be drilled to a depth of approximately 20 below ground surface (bgs)
or to approximately five-feet below the static groundwater level at the Site. The boreholes will
be drilled using a direct push sampling equipment. Samples will be collected at five-foot
intervals to groundwater. The borehole will then be extended into groundwater and a
groundwater grab sample will be collected. Soil and groundwater samples will be submitted for
analysis to a California certified laboratory for TPH-G, TPH-diesel, BTEX, oil and grease, and
LUFT 5 metals.
HAPROIECTMOFATIPON.WP
• SACRAMENTO OFFICE •
7844 MADISON AVENUE,SUITE 167•FAIR OAKS,CALIFORNIA 95628•TELEPHONE:(916)962-1612 FAX:(916)962-2678
