Bank of America
Environmental Services 24122
September 16, 1997
Mr. Steve Sasson
Senior Registered Environmental Health Specialist
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
P.O. Box 388
Stockton, CA 95201-0388
Subject: Bank of America Ripon Branch
234 W. Main St., Ripon, CA
Dear Mr. Sasson:
Enclosed please find a copy of the final report for the Phase II subsurface investigation
recently completed at the subject site. Please note that this copy is mistakenly
designated as a "Draft"; however, it is a final report. In addition, I am enclosing a
complete copy of the Phase II report for the subsurface site assessment completed in
May 1997.
As discussed in the report, no petroleum hydrocarbon constituents were detected in
any of the soil samples collected during the investigation. Metal concentrations in soil
samples were consistent with background levels for the area.
Metal concentrations in grab groundwater samples were very low and well below the
California Department of Health Services Primary Maximum Contaminant Levels for
drinking water. No petroleum hydrocarbon constituents were detected in onsite grab
groundwater samples. Very low concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons were
detected in offsite grab groundwater samples as follows:
• 76-250 ug/L TPH-D in two offsite grab groundwater samples; and
• 42.0 ug/L ethylbenzene and 41 .8 ug/L total xylenes in one offsite
grab groundwater sample.
Bank of America National Trust and Savings Association
4000 MacArthur Boulevard Suite 100 Newport Beach, CA 92660 Phone 714/260-5819
