(Versar) on behalf of our client, Heller First Capital Corporation(Heller) has
prepared this letter workplan and application for permits as per San Joaquin County Public Health
Services requirements for soil borings for the above referenced site.
As part of a Limited Phase II Subsurface Investigation to assess the presence or absence
of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted soil,Versar plans to advance a maximum of seven soil
borings at the Site. The borings will be advanced and samples collected with the aid of a truck-
mounted, Geoprobel direct-push drilling rig.
Two soil borings will be installed to maximum depth of approximately 20 feet below
ground surface (bgs). One soil sample from each boring will be submitted to a California state-
certified laboratory for analysis of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-G); benzene,
toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX); and methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE). The
soil sample from the waste oil UST soil boring will also be analyzed for TPH as diesel (TPH-D);
volatile organic compounds (VOCs); total oil and grease; semi-volatile organic compounds
(SVOCs); and total cadmium, chromium, lead, nickel, and zinc (LUFT 5).
The other five soil borings will be advanced to a maximum depth of approximately 10
feet bgs. Two soil samples, one at approximately three feet bgs and the other at approximately
nine feet bgs, will be submitted to a California state-certified laboratory for laboratory analysis of
TPH as hydraulic oil. Versar proposes that if concentrations above 100 milligrams per kilogram
of TPH as hydraulic oil are detected, then the same sample should also be analyzed for
polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). Enclosed are; the Application for Permit, Masterfile Record
Information Form, General Program File Form, driller authorization letter, and a check payable
to San Joaquin County Public Health Services for$323.00.
IAHELLER\ESCALON\LETTER.WP
• SACRAMENTO OFFICE
7844 MADISON AVENUE,SUITE 167•FAIR OAKS,CALIFORNIA 95628•TELEPHONE:(916)962.1612 FAX:(916)962-2678
