This assessment includes all data collected during the <br /> install''ation of the ten borings. <br /> i <br />� . <br />~~ <br /> 1. 1 SnTE DESCRIPTION <br /> ` <br />� <br /> The site is located at 1405 Main Street in Escalon <br /> Calif ia. A small convenience store and two fuel ' <br /> dispensing islands are currently being operated there. <br /> l � <br />&� The fuel dispensing islands are supplied by three <br /> underground fuel storage tanks as shown on Figure 1. The <br /> most recent tank test results indicate that the tanks are not <br /> Y . <br /> leaking. <br /> In November, 1985, a tank test indicated that the diesel <br /> 1 product line at the northwest end of' island #1 was failing <br /> (Figur6 1 ) . The line was repaired at that time No soil <br /> , . <br /> samples were collected from the damaged product line area. <br /> No indikation was made that product had been discharged into <br /> Uthe soil. <br />� 1. 2 PREVIOUS WORK <br /> Six soil borings were at the site on June 2— <br /> ' ~ �+ <br /> 1988 in . the vicinity of three underground storage tanks and <br /> one additional boring was drilled on August 26, 1988. The <br /> locations of the soil ' borings are indicated on Figure 1. <br />~ <br /> U <br /> The three underground tanks were tested November 16 <br />~~ 1988 b v Bill Mc�aniels Service ice Station Supply of Modesto' � <br /> All three tanks and the associated product lines were <br /> U confirmed tight | <br /> K . ^ � <br /> Ascope of work was developed to determine whether <br /> diesel :had leaked into soil from the failed product line. <br /> The wokplan was submitted November 29, 1988 to the San i <br /> Joaquin Local Health District. Priority consideration was <br />~ authorozed December 13, 1988 and approval to commence- <br /> activities <br /> ommenceactivities was granted December 30, 1988 (Appendix BY.
